In 1988, athletic trainers in the greater Houston area met to discuss the formation of what has become known as the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society. It was there at that first organizational meeting attended by some thirty athletic trainers that Roy Don Wilson was appointed interim President until an election could be held. Elections were held and term limits were set for the positions were set at two years.
